Peace, Love and Steve Fisher

Scott and I bleed red and black – not because we are part human/part Spiderman gone bad – but because we are proud SDSU Aztecs.

Today for our Valentine’s celebration, we went to back to our alma mater to see the brick we finally paid for after four years at the newly completed Alumni Center.  When I was in college at SDSU years back, I worked at the Alumni Association and used to take notes during the board meetings when the Alumni Center was only being debated over an MOU. The finished product is amazing and we are so proud to have just a little piece of it that we can call our own.

After that, we walked across the street to watch the Aztec men’s basketball team demolish the highly ranked UNLV.  We try to make it to at least a few SDSU basketball games each year.  We both love the sport, and our Aztecs, but mostly we love the heart and soul of the team – coach Steve Fisher.

He has done so much for the men’s basketball program and upholds the values of college athletics.  He teaches his players not only the game, but also the fundamentals of life – and he holds them to it.  It is refreshing.

It doesn’t take much to make the Robert’s smile, but today was one of those days in our family when our happiness cup runneth over with joy.  Go Aztecs!
