Scott’s 7th Annual Chili Cook Off

Judges (L to R): Scott, Jesse and Erik

Each year we celebrate Scott’s birthday with a chili cook-off.  This year was the seventh year of the event and by far the biggest we’ve had to date.  It is the proverbial “man” party … hotdogs, chips, chili and beer.  What more does a man need, right?

We had a lot more first-time attendees and entrants this year, plus some special out-of-town guests.  My dad and his wife Marilyn came down from the San Fernando Valley and my uncle Mike and aunt Brandi came from Newbury Park.

L to R: Dad (3rd place), Nick (2nd place) and Brittney (1st place)

There were 13 chili entries this year … and the defending champion Nick Isabella came to protect his title.  Unfortunately, Nick had to turn his crown over to a first-time entrant, Miss Brittney Taylor.  The third place went to my dad, Pete.  Second place went to Nick Isabella.  Cheers to everyone who entered … some of the best competition to date.

I’m already looking forward to next year.

Too much fun! Another great weekend of celebrating Scott’s bday. How many Bdays does a person get in one year? Lovejoy got away without a fat lip this year.

    Thanks Roberts!
